When back to the future goes automotive, and the past meets the future, we get the perfect combination – a classic MINI with electric drive.

Ahead of the New York International Auto Show, the British built MINI Cooper from the second half of the last century was fitted with electric drive. The zero emission retro-mobile was on show from 30 March to the 8 April 2018.

Linking past and future, the classic red MINI combines the fun of the mid-century motoring with zero-emission urban mobility – and points to the launch of the large scale production of the first all-electric MINI. Based on the current MINI 3-Door Hatch, the first of many e-mobiles will roll off the production lines next year, just as the Classic MINI turns 60.

The MINI Classic MINI Electric, meanwhile will remain one of a kind.
